MAKE ME A METALEARNER
Master the process of accelerated learning to fast-track your career, do great work and future proof yourself.

No matter what you want to accomplish in life – whether it’s at work, at school or at home – it all comes down to your ability to learn.

And if you’re anything like me, you probably have a long list of new things you want to learn.

Maybe you want to learn to code or pick up digital marketing to further your career.

Maybe you want to ace tough classes at school and get better grades in less time.

Maybe you want to start a new hobby like learning a new language, playing a new instrument or picking up a sport.

But in a world of information overload, it’s hard to know where to start.

What are the best materials to use? Do you need to take a class or find a teacher? And what’s the best way to learn a new skill anyway?

It’s overwhelming. And just getting started feels like climbing Mount Everest.

Then, when you do finally get started, dealing with life and work makes staying consistent seem impossible.

You end up wasting time, procrastinating and skipping sessions and before you know it, you’ve given up on your goal.

You’ve given up on what’s important to you.

And you’ve given up on yourself.

Fast forward a few months and you’re looking back wondering…what if I’d just kept going? If only I hadn’t given up…

Well, if you’d kept going and hadn’t given up, chances are you still wouldn’t have learned that skill.

Why?

Because you don’t know how to learn.

And you don’t have a system to help you get through the challenges that life throws at you along the way.

Learning a new skill is not impossible, even if you have a full time job, a packed calendar and busy family and social life to manage.

You just need to figure out the right way.

And when you do, learning becomes the ultimate superpower.

Because once you’ve mastered it, you can apply it to anything and everything.

CAN YOU REALLY LEARN ANYTHING?

You may be wondering – is there really a system that can teach me how to learn anything and everything?

The answer is yes – because this system is not a one size fits all, magic pill solution that promises you the earth and fails to deliver.

It’s a system that helps you understand the way you learn.

It’s a system that’s based on the latest cutting edge research from cognitive psychology and neuroscience.

It’s a system that’s been developed from interviewing the world’s top learning experts.

And it’s a system that’s been honed after years of real world practical experience…

I’ve applied these ideas to myself to pick up new skills in record time and have used them successfully with hundreds of students.

I know this works. And if you put in the work, it will work for you too.

In my journey to make myself a MetaLearner after graduating from university I faced a number of problems:

- Choosing one skill to focus on and taking on too much at once
- Looking for the “best way” to learn something and getting overwhelmed
- Drowning in the ocean of available materials online
- Finding a system for taking notes and organising myself effectively
- Forgetting what I’d learned and not being able to access it from memory
- Finding teachers and mentors to help me on my way
- Staying consistent with learning when life and work got in the way

At one point or another, these all had me down…

But through trial and error, digging in and speaking to some of the best minds in the world, I always found an answer.

I created Make Me A MetaLearner to share my knowledge and experience so that you don’t have to go through the same pain…

This course will help you master your learning and take control of your life in a fraction of the time it took me.

And whatever you’re learning - whether you're looking to master tough classes at school, pick up new skills to fast-track your career or start a new hobby - I’ve got you covered…

Hi, I’m Nasos Papadopoulos

I’m a learning expert, university lecturer and the founder of MetaLearn, where I help people learn faster so they can level up in every area of their lives.

Over the last few years I’ve taught hundreds of students, taking many from Cs and Ds to straight As and learned new skills in record time including everything from public speaking to digital marketing and entrepreneurship to languages.

But it wasn’t always this way.

At school, studying for me mostly involved long periods of time poring over textbooks and writing out pages and pages of notes.

And no matter how hard I worked I never seemed to hit the heights of the “gifted” kids who seemed to get the best grades without even trying.

I even transferred this high volume strategy to the sports I played, believing that repeated practice would lead to higher performance.

But no matter what I tried I never quite made the best teams.

When I graduated from university, I realised I had a lot to learn.

I’d abandoned plans to start a career in investment banking, turning down a high profile job without an alternative career path.

I knew I had work to do… so I set out to re-educate myself.

I did internships in areas I’d never even considered…journalism, sales, recruitment...

I worked as a private tutor, teaching university students a range of different subjects...

And because of all this, I started to become interested in the process of learning.

I wanted to learn new skills as efficiently as possible in the limited time I had and I wanted to help my students do the same with their studies.

So, I started to dive into the research from cognitive psychology and neuroscience to find out more about how we learn.

I read everything I could get my hands on and threw myself into learning new skills, seeing my learning improve dramatically by applying these methods.

And I started to use them with my students, taking many of them from Cs and Ds to straight A’s within a few months.

I knew I was onto something…

So I started MetaLearn...and after months of writing articles, I launched a podcast to interview the world’s top learning experts.

Fast-forward a couple of years and MetaLearn is now an established content platform with many thousands of monthly users from all over the world.

I’ve had the privilege to interview Harvard psychologists, Silicon Valley entrepreneurs and acclaimed athletes and musicians.

I’ve had more job offers and opportunities to collaborate with amazing people than I can count.

And I’ve been able to help thousands of people learn more effectively.

My life changed because I became a MetaLearner and learned how to learn.

And I want to help you do the same thing.

I want to Make You a MetaLearner.

COURSE INFORMATION

Introducing Make Me A MetaLearner

Make Me A MetaLearner is an interactive course with 100+ HD video lessons (over 5 hours of content) and an extensive workbook designed to help you master your learning and pick up a new skill in record time.

All of the videos are downloadable so you can access them anytime from your computer, tablet or phone.

This course will teach you how to learn what you want without spending lots of money, without dedicating thousands of hours to the process…and often, without even leaving the comfort of your own home.

Work through the course in your own time. There are 5 distinct sections with 100+ videos (over five hours total!), taking you all the way from choosing your skill to creating an action plan and executing so you can go from beginner to expert in record time.

Set yourself up for success by following key action items in a printable workbook, that will teach you how to get hold of resources, learn more effectively and build an action plan that you’ll stick to so that you know exactly what to do and when to do it.

Use the bonus materials to keep you on track, including Q&A sections in video format which address the most common learning problems and give you the answers needed to overcome sticking points and make progress!

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

Make Me A MetaLearner will teach you to learn faster and smarter

Across five distinct stages, all designed to take you through the process, you’ll get a detailed walk through of everything it takes to learn smarter and faster.

Section 1 is all about the Meta – you’ll get a clearer picture of how you learn, and discover the principles of effective learning that you can apply to any skill. Plus, you’ll choose your one skill to focus on for the course and set an achievable goal to aim towards so you can start making gains from the start.

Section 2 is about Input – you’ll learn how to save yourself time by doing good research, discover the best ways to find high quality materials and optimise your process for consuming information so you can avoid getting side-tracked and absorb more in less time.

Section 3 is about Process – we’ll focus on turning information into understanding, through the three pillars of note taking, memorisation and organisation. This will help you internalise the knowledge and skills you’re learning so that you can recall whatever you need from memory and learn faster than anyone you know.

Section 4 is about Output – here we’ll focus on the end results from learning: building a skill via deliberate practice, the long term retention of knowledge and creating an action plan that you can retrieve so you have something to show for your learning to establish you as a thought leader and accelerate your career.

Section 5 is about Maintenance - we’ll cover the learning habits needed to make consistent progress and focus on community, helping you find like-minded learners and the mentors needed to push you in the right direction, so that you never abandon a learning project again and reach your goals no matter the circumstances.

What will I learn in the course?
The course has two main goals. The first goal is to take you through the process of choosing and learning a new skill, taking you from novice to expert in record time. Through exploring the research, having conversations with the world’s top learning experts and my own practical teaching and learning experience, I’ve figured out a formula that can be translated to any skill – the MetaLearn Method™. Most people don’t realise that there’s a lot more to learning something new than meets the eye – and so they’re doomed to fail before they start. The second goal is to teach you how to learn more effectively. Through the direct experience of learning a new skill, you’ll start to get a more accurate picture of how you learn and you’ll be able to apply this to any skill you choose to learn in the future. Plus, you’ll also pick up the strategies and techniques that apply to almost all of us, based on the latest insights from cognitive psychology and neuroscience. This means you’ll leave the course armed with all the tools you’ll ever need to learn new things.
Can I really learn anything with this course?
Yes. To put it simply Make Me A MetaLearner will help you learn a new skill as quickly, efficiently and enjoyably as possible, taking you from novice to expert in record time and building the foundations for you to reach mastery in the future. The course has a modular structure which means you can focus more on different sections, depending on what type of skill you're learning. But if you want to become a MetaLearner, I recommend going through all the sections!
What makes you qualified to teach this?
I've spent years studying the process of learning new skills, diving into scientific research on how we learn and interviewing the world’s top learning experts. I’ve applied what I learned to my own projects, picking up new skills in record time and helping hundreds of students as a tutor and university lecturer, with outstanding results.
What’s the science behind this course?
While your brain doesn’t come with a user’s manual, developments in neuroscience have led to important insights that we can use in our learning and life, especially when combined with the knowledge we’ve built from more than 100 years of cognitive psychology – a field that tries to understand basic mental processes like memory, language and decision-making through behavioural experiments. I dedicate a series of videos to these principles in Section 1: Meta and present a sequence of learning strategies that follow from them that you can apply to your skill of choice.
How is this course different from other accelerated learning courses?
Make Me A MetaLearner differs from other systems in 3 main ways: ***1) You Apply Learning Principles to a Skill During the Course*** Rather than just telling you about the application of learning principles in the abstract, Make Me A MetaLearner helps you to apply these principles to a specific skill of your choice. This means you learn how to learn by actually learning a skill and monitoring yourself along the way . ***2) MMAM is Applicable Across All Skills*** Unlike other systems, which are usually more knowledge focused, Make Me a MetaLearner is a modular course which can be adapted to any kind of skill including knowledge based skills (e.g. learning economics, math), motor based skills (e.g. playing tennis, playing guitar) and mixed skills (e.g. learning a language, building a business) ***3) MMAM is an Integrated System*** Most systems focus on learning techniques (e.g. speed reading, memorisation) but Make Me A MetaLearner is different in that it covers all this but also deals with a number of other important questions, which are neglected in almost all courses but are very important e.g. How do you choose what to learn? (Section 1: Meta) How do you choose your materials? (Section 2: Input) How do you create learning projects? (Section 4: Output) How do you find teachers, mentors and communities? (Section 5: Maintenance)
Does this course refer to the work of Tim Ferriss and concepts like DSSS and the Pareto Principle (The 80:20 Rule)?
I respect what Tim Ferriss has done and think he's achieved great results for himself and others. This course does touch on some of the concepts that Tim covers in his book on accelerated learning, The 4 Hour Chef, such as DSSS (Deconstruction, Selection (Pareto Principle), Sequencing and Stakes). Any good book or course on accelerated learning should deal with the process of deconstructing a skill, selecting the most important parts, putting them into an order and then creating some accountability through stakes. I don't teach Pareto’s law directly - but I do teach it indirectly in that I show you how to focus on the crucial 20% that produces 80% of results: How to choose the 20% of materials, the 20% of note taking, memory and organisation techniques and the 20% of experts and mentors that will have the biggest impact on your learning. But this course is about much more than these ideas, as you can see, simply by scanning through the syllabus on the course home page.
How does Make Me A MetaLearner differ from your free articles, podcasts and videos?
Make Me A MetaLearner is my ultimate guide to learning. I’m proud of all my free work – the articles, podcasts and videos – but many of them were produced over the course of the last couple of years, and I’ve learned a lot since then after more conversations with thought leaders and a lot more practical teaching and learning experience. So Make Me A MetaLearner is an integrated system that represents my current take on the steps needed to learn a new skill. I present the ideas in a logical and organised way that maximises your chances of success – so all the guesswork is taken out of the process.
How much time will the course take?
I’d recommend between 2-3 hours per week in order to make the most of the material, but you can take the course at your own pace and do more or less depending on your schedule. I’ve organised the course into five main sections so spreading the material out over 5 weeks would work well, which means you’d be completing one section per week. But once you enrol, you can access the course anytime, so you can go as fast or as slow as you want.
